How can we help?

The mic prompt appears the first time you press Start in Voice mode. If you accidentally clicked Block, do this:

1. Click the small 🔒 or 🎤 icon to the left of the address bar.
2. Change Microphone from "Block" to "Allow".
3. Reload the TelPrompt window. Press Start again — it should prompt afresh.

Still stuck? Open chrome://settings/content/microphone directly and add the TelPrompt window to the Allow list.

Some lag is normal — speech recognition needs a few words of context to confirm a match. If it feels too sluggish, try changing the sensitivity preset:

• Precise waits for confident matches (slower but more stable).
• Balanced is the default (~200ms latency).
• Casual jumps on partial matches (fastest, more drift on mumble).

Background noise can also push latency up. A quiet room or a dedicated mic helps a lot.

On-device speech recognition requires a one-time language-pack download. Open chrome://on-device-internals/ to see which packs are installed and request a fresh download.

If your language isn't supported on-device yet, TelPrompt won't fall back to the cloud — it'll suggest Fixed Pace instead. We're sorry; we'd rather you keep your audio private than send it somewhere else.

Chrome hides newly-installed extensions behind the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right of the browser. Click it, find TelPrompt, and hit the pin to put it on the toolbar.

Chrome 134 is the minimum for on-device speech recognition (the SpeechRecognition.available() API). Check yours at chrome://settings/help. If you're behind, Chrome will offer to update.

Fixed Pace mode works on any Chromium browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera — fully offline, no version minimum.

Chrome updates extensions in the background — usually within a day of release. To force an update, open chrome://extensions with Developer mode on, then click Update in the top-right.

From your account page, one click. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period. No retention calls, no exit surveys.

If you're within 7 days of your first charge, email [email protected] and we'll process it. No questions, no friction. After 7 days, you can still cancel any time but the existing month isn't refundable.

Stripe emails one with every charge. If you've lost it, sign in to your account and your billing history is there. Or email us and we'll pull one for you.

Scripts are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device only. They go missing if:

• You uninstalled and reinstalled the extension.
• You're using a different Chrome profile than the one you saved them in.
• Chrome cleared site data for the extension (rare, usually only if you ran a cleaner).

We can't recover them — we never had a copy. Use the export feature (coming soon) to back them up to a JSON file you keep.

Sign in to the same account on your new machine and copy individual scripts across. Cross-device sync isn't a feature — we'd have to upload your scripts to a server to enable it, and we'd rather not.

Yes. TelPrompt is just a browser window on your screen. Whatever captures your camera (any of the above) won't conflict with it — the mic is shared at the OS level, so both apps can read it simultaneously.

Only if you capture the full screen or a region that includes it. Capturing a specific browser tab — or just the webcam — won't include the TelPrompt window.
