Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of TelPrompt. We've tried to write them in plain English — if anything's unclear, email us.
Short version. TelPrompt is a Chrome extension you subscribe to for $3.50/month. You can cancel any time. If you cancel within 7 days of subscribing, we'll refund you in full. Use TelPrompt for anything legal. We won't share your data. We don't promise the service will be perfect, but we'll work to make it good.
1. Who we are
"TelPrompt", "we", "us", and "our" refer to TelPrompt and its operators. "You" and "your" refer to anyone accessing this website or using the TelPrompt extension.
2. The service
TelPrompt is a browser extension that provides a teleprompter inside its own browser window, with on-device voice tracking and local script storage. The service consists of the extension itself, this website (telprompt.app), and any related support channels.
3. Subscription & billing
- TelPrompt is offered at $3.50 USD per month, billed in advance.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes never apply retroactively.
4. Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. If TelPrompt isn't for you, email [email protected] within 7 days of your first subscription charge and we'll issue a full refund, no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are not provided, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges.
5. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be 16 or older to subscribe.
6. Acceptable use
Use TelPrompt for any legal purpose. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the extension, except where explicitly permitted by law.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute TelPrompt without our written permission.
- Use TelPrompt to violate someone else's rights or break any law.
- Use TelPrompt to misrepresent yourself in any context where doing so is fraudulent or harmful (e.g. deceiving examiners, defrauding employers, or impersonating others).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Your scripts
Anything you write into TelPrompt — your scripts, settings, library — belongs to you. We never see it. It stays on your device in your browser's local storage. We have no ability to access, copy, or use your scripts in any way.
8. Intellectual property
The TelPrompt name, logo, extension code, and this website's design are our intellectual property. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use TelPrompt while your subscription is active. Open-source components we use are licensed under their respective terms.
9. Service availability
We work hard to keep TelPrompt available, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. Maintenance, updates, browser changes, and other factors may cause brief interruptions. Because TelPrompt runs entirely on your device, most issues won't affect your ability to use it — your saved scripts remain accessible even when our website is offline.
10. Third-party services
TelPrompt uses Chrome's built-in speech-recognition API for voice tracking. We do not control this API. Its availability and accuracy depend on Google's implementation. Your subscription does not depend on this API's availability — Fixed Pace mode works without it.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
TelPrompt is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
12. Termination
You can cancel anytime. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these terms. Termination doesn't entitle you to a refund beyond what's covered by the 7-day guarantee.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to subscribers and the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TelPrompt operates. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
